Home Depot hits the brakes: Three-year robust sales run ends amid pull back on home improvements | News

New York (CNN) — Home Depot couldn’t keep its protracted robust sales streak going any longer. The home improvement chain reported a small quarter as consumer spending on home improvement projects – which was buoyed by the stay-at-home pandemic lifestyle – coming to a screeching halt.

The retailer posted disappointing sales for its first quarter and lowered its outlook for the year after customers slowed their spending on home improvement projects. 6 Home Improvement Projects to Tackle This Summer

Home improvement is something every American homeowner has to deal with at some point in their lives.

Nearly 15% of homeowners are expected to spend between $5,000 and $10,000 on home improvements in a given year. Some people might spend a lot more than that if they’re doing a kitchen remodel or putting an addition to their home.

The point is, home improvement costs a lot of money, so you want to be sure you’re spending your money wisely. Home improvement projects should add value to your home so that the ROI comes right back should you decide to sell.

Layers of Flowers- Spring Table Setting

An abundance of florals on repeat for a flower filled spring table setting.

Flowers Filled Table Setting

This table was inspired by flowers (surprise surprise haha). From the tablecloth to the napkins to the garland- it’s all about florals on repeat. It was originally for a small bridal gathering but I thought I would share it here too as it works just as beautifully for a spring or Easter table as well.

Floral Linens

This table cloth has an all over floral trellis pattern that is so pretty – it would be lovely for warm summer gatherings as well.

french blooms: shooting photos for a book

I’m excited to tell you about a new book, called French Blooms, published by my dear friend, Sandra Sigman.

French Blooms

French Blooms shares Sandra’s love of flowers, and illustrates her inspiration that comes in large part from the time she spent living in France. Creating a book is an adventure. From outlining the concept to the writing, the photography, and then of course finding a publisher, it feels like running a marathon.

I was privileged to run part of the race with Sandra when she visited me a few years ago. Sandra stayed with me here in Normandy, along with another
