$18.5 million renovation of USI Health Professions Center underway

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – University of Southern Indiana is using $18.5 million in state funding to revamp its Health Professions Center.

The funds were first awarded in 2019 by the Indiana General Assembly and the multi-phase renovation project began in May of this year.

The University is planning to use these funds to enhance equipment and expand learning.

USI nursing student, Mikaylah Boulds says she’s excited to get this opportunity.

“It makes me feel very proud because we worked so hard to get into this program and now we have all these new rooms and opportunities,” said Bould.

Social housing in Edmonton gets money for renovations, repairs – Edmonton

Nearly 2,000 affordable housing units in Edmonton are set to be renovated and repaired in the next three years, according to a funding announcement to the tune of $66 million from the city and federal government Friday.

“Studies show that the environment you grow up in will dictate a lot about your success in life, so we need to make sure that the homes are the places they want to call home,” said Randy Boissonault, MP for the Edmonton Centre.
