Major renovation planned for Athens’ archaeological museum

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Greece’s Culture Ministry announced plans Wednesday for a major renovation of the National Archaeological Museum, expanding exhibition space at the Athens site that houses what is considered the most important collection of Greek antiquities in the world.

The project, expected to last four years, will be led by the British architect Sir David Chipperfield, whose major works include the restoration of the Neues Museum in Berlin and the design of the East Building at the Saint Louis Art Museum.

The City of Edmonton is looking for local homeowners who want to retrofit their homes to achieve net-zero emissions, offering a free energy audit and connections with newly trained contractors.

Officials are hoping to sign up 10 to 15 homeowners across the city who are ready to pursue renovations. They’ll be provided with a consultation from a qualified net-zero energy adviser to make a plan for upgrades, but they’ll be responsible for the cost of any construction work.

With renovations wrapping up, Dexter officials set to move into new city hall

DEXTER, MI – Offices with doors. No more fighting over the conference room. Space for the city archives.

Dexter’s city government is about to get new digs as renovations wrap up at the historic “old grain mill” building at 3515 Broad Street, the new city hall.

The move is close at hand.

The current city offices on the second floor of PNC Bank on Main Street, a cramped space the city has outgrown, are set to close to walk-in visitors between Monday, Feb. 27 and Friday, March 3, officials said.

Stewart Memorial Community Hospital (SMCH) Auxiliary recently presented a donation of $50,000 to the hospital for its ongoing renovations. In 2020, the Putting People First Expansion and Renovation Project campaign received a pledge gift from the Auxiliary totaling $250,000 for the renovation of the new Heart Strings Gift Shoppe.
