A house isn’t just a house — it’s a piece of the people who live there. And in designer Veronica Valencia’s new HGTV series, revealedrenovations are based on clients’ heritage and culture.

“I learned early on the importance of honoring your past,” says Valencia, who is of Mexican and Native American descent and was raised amid heirlooms and objects linked to important memories. “We used my grandma’s tortilla maker and thumbed through family photo albums scattered everywhere. I don’t think homes are meant to be precious or perfect; they’re meant to be lived in.”

White House pushes for renewal of electronic surveillance law provision | Biden administration

The White House is stepping up pressure on lawmakers to renew a section of electronic surveillance law which permits the government to conduct targeted surveillance of foreign persons located outside the US.

The provision, known as section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (Fisa), is set to expire at the end of the year. But its renewal is facing pushback from privacy advocates and lawmakers, some citing examples in which law enforcement search requests were misused to conduct illegal surveillance on US citizens.

Fixer Upper star Joanna Gaines is known for her enthusiasm when it comes to home renovation, but some projects are just a tough nut to crack as the star admitted in her latest edition of The Magnolia Journal. The interior designer weighed in on one of her latest projects in the release, detailing how it took a toll on her and husband Chip Gaines.

Marshall ISD to begin renovations at Early Childhood Center, Lil’ Mav Academy | News

Marshall ISD has announced that renovations will soon begin at Marshall Early Childhood Center and Lil’ Mav Academy. The project was delayed six months beyond the original timeline due to delays in planning and other variables beyond the district’s control.

Due to the district’s financial stewardship and healthy fund balance (savings account), the district is able to use a portion of that money at MECC and Lil’ Mav Academy.

Renovations will include:
